January 2, 2006

The second day of a new year, but it's also a day of endings. The celebrations are over and the clean up begins. For a while there will be empty spaces where the decorations were until they are filled again with the humdrum of everyday life.

Holidays are hectic, crazy, fun, different, busy and sometimes enough to drive me crazy but when they are over, relief is mixed with melancholy. So here is a picture of today.

I will start putting things away on Saturday, I will miss them. My nativities especially. My mom used to keep her collection of nativites from around the world out all year.

I didn't know you had that nativity scene. I've thought of getting it myself!

You're ahead of me... I won't do that til next week. Good memory shot.

This photo brings up lots of mixed feelings. Bittersweet.

Love the nativity set!

Sandie,
I keep my nativity out all year too. I put it up on top of my bookcase, and it is such a nice and warm reminder of Jesus for me.

Paula,
Where did you get that Nativity set, BTW?
It looks like a bigger model of a popular artist here.
